Primus is the new proposal by Intermac in the technology of the waterjet cutting for glass applications. The profound knowledge of the needs in the process of optimization of the glass cutting has brought to the ideation of a system that is simple to use, with reduced maintenance and high productivity. With Primus there is the combination of productivity and versatility of the waterjet technology with the reliability and the ease of use Intermac solutions. In brief Primus makes an art of essentiality. The cut is possible through a supersonic jet, that is obtained by concentrating through a suitably calibrated hole, a water flow with the pressure about 413,7 MPa (about 60.000 psi) that produces a coherent jet of water projected at almost three times the speed of sound (810 m/s). The jet can be added with abrasive, according to the materials to be cut and is directed against the surface of the work-piece and it is able to separate the parts by means of dual action: erosion and abrasion combined. The enanchement of the water pressure is realized by specific hydraulically- driven volumetric pump, called "ultra high pressure intensifier" that determines the cut potential of the system.
